Wendel Completed a LED Street Lighting ESPC for the Village of Kenmore

Wendel was selected through a competitive RFP for an Energy Savings Performance Contract with the Village to convert the streetlights and parking lot lights to LED technology. The Village selected Wendel due to its “open book” cost contracting approach, which included full transparency of all material and labor project costs, fees, and contingency funds.

The field audit identified utility billing and inventory discrepancies, which were corrected with the utility. Following a GIS field audit, Wendel provided electrical and lighting design services, including photometric modeling in Agi32 software to select appropriate fixtures for various roadway applications. Energy and operational savings calculations were completed to establish guaranteed savings of $6.75M over the life of the improvements for the Village.

Wendel completed the installation and purchased new LED luminaries directly from the manufacturer to reduce the project cost. Wendel also assisted the Village with purchasing the streetlight system from National Grid. The Village also received $78,000 in utility rebates.
