Ameresco and ENGIE Services U.S. Inc. Win Industry-Leading Award Recognizing Member Collaboration and Outstanding Project through Performance Contracting
Washington, DC,. November 17, 2024—The National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO), the leading advocacy and accreditation association representing companies modernizing our nation's building infrastructure, has announced Ameresco and ENGIE Services U.S. Inc. as winners of the 2024 NAESCO Member Award. The awards were given during the NAESCO and ESC joint annual meeting, R3 Conference and Innovation Expo, in Anaheim, CA, from November 4th to 6th, 2024.
The NAESCO Member Award honors the achievements of exemplary projects that show the full potential of public-private partnerships. Efforts recognized by this award include but are not limited to, significant or unique savings, innovative project approaches or technology uses, overcoming significant project obstacles, achieving environmental justice goals, and incorporating community development and outreach.
Ameresco was awarded for member collaboration on a multi-year, deep energy retrofit Utility Energy Service Contract (UESC) project with Oklahoma Gas & Electric Company and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in Oklahoma.
“This project is an example of teamwork, both on the client side and especially on the delivery side,” said Timothy Unruh, Executive Director of NAESCO. “In this project, Ameresco leveraged several NAESCO members to create a great example of member collaboration fulfilling a project. Ameresco leveraged the skills of Greentech Energy Services for lighting upgrades, Power Secure and Powersmiths for transformers and building envelope, and ECM Holding Group for water upgrades, with a resulting 46% of the project delivered through NAESCO affiliate members for this collaborative effort.”
ENGIE Services U.S. Inc. was awarded an outstanding project through performance contracting for its multifaceted approach to implementing project innovations for the City of Menlo Park, a community south of San Francisco, focusing on project improvements for a historically underserved part of their Belle Haven Community Campus.
“For this client, ENGIE provided services that integrated a complex combination of technical, operational, and financial challenges that involved updating the community center to enable use during emergency situations. ENGIE combined capital funds, energy and operational savings, Inflation Reduction Act credits, a city fund, and a local generation initiative to leverage the final solution for this project,” said Timothy Unruh, Executive Director of NAESCO.
