CEG Solutions Redesign of Data Center Project Published in ASHRAE Journal

A project case study completed by CEG Solutions, a leading provider of energy efficiency and sustainability services, was recently published in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) journal.

The project achieved a 34% reduction in energy consumption for the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) solely by redesigning its 20,000 square foot data center, located in Sacramento, California. The one million square foot LEED Platinum building was already highly optimized with an EnergyStar score of 100 (out of 100), ranking it in the top percentile of all high-rise office buildings.

The facility benefited from a multifaceted approach that included IT equipment consolidation, virtualization and modernization, and a complete re-architecture of the data center cooling infrastructure.
